HEALTH INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY POLICY

The Center for Health Information Technology Policy provides unbiased information on policy and practices related to the use of information technology to improve health and health care to support informed decision-making by not only those who work in health care, but also those who make policy decisions.

To support advancements in policy and practice in the field, the Center will conduct research and provide objective analysis of progress made, challenges experienced, and strategies utilized to support better health and health care enabled by information technology.

As part of its work, the Center will highlight the diverse range of perspectives within health care, including those of clinicians, consumers, employers, government agencies, health plans, hospitals and health systems, and health information technology companies; and promote open and spirited dialogue, debate and information-sharing on emerging issues related to the use of health information technology to drive improvements in the quality, safety and cost-effectiveness of health care.
